I think the M2 pro might run the VSL libraries a bit better, but that's probably an unrealistic perception on my part. However, that doesn't seem to make a difference. It runs cool (around 100 degrees) with 5 VSL mics and latency set to 64. It's seems to be a bit snappier than the M1 Max studio. I can attest to the superb performance of the Mac mini M2 Pro (10cpu/16gpu, 32ram, 2TB).
